Hi

Recently I've encountered what seems to be a bug in Windows Defender Exploit Guard on multiple machines running Windows 10 Home and Pro, both of which are running Windows 10 version 1709, OS Build 16299.248.

Because of the bug as seen in the UI of the attached screenshots, I'm currently not confident that windows defender exploit guard is operational.

Current Window Defender Version:

I would like some advise on how to reset or reinstall windows defender to resolve the issue, or in the worst case scenario resetting the affected machines.

If we assume that this is just a glitch, then you might be able to reset the Exploit protection defaults by exporting the settings from an unaffected PC (with default settings) and then importing those settings on the affected machines. This looks to be the backup/restore tool for the Exploit protection settings:

Are you using Windows Insider or Current Build of Windows 10?

Open start and search for Feedback and open Feedback Hub app and report this issue, make sure all screenshots and relevant logs (if any).
