Windows 10 PUP Error

I have a Windows 10 PC, and when I try to open a program and programs of the similar type (usage and file wise) I get an error saying something like "This program is a PUP" and it deletes itself. The program has been used by many other people so there is a guarantee that it is not a PUP. I make in exception in all my AV's and it still says that error.

Thank you for replying back, Cody. Since you're using Windows 10, it may be possible that Windows Defender is the one blocking the program. Here's an article on how you make an exception for a file, program, or process.

Please do take note that these kinds of software are identified as PUP for a reason. You can still use them but always be mindful on the information it collects on your device.

Update us if there are improvements.

I know what a PUP is. The program I am trying to open is NOT a PUP as many other people have used it virus free.

    Hi Cody,

Potentially Unwanted Programs may or may not damage your system files due to some corrupted or missing files, invalid registry entries, or a possible virus. In the meantime, we suggest that you scan your computer using the Microsoft Safety Scanner. This aids in getting rid of viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. Do not worry as it will work with your existing antivirus software. To download it, see this link: Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Note: If any bad sectors are found when scanning your hard drive and trying to repair that sector, any data available on that might be lost.

If running your antivirus and the Microsoft Safety Scanner failed to resolve the issue, we'll be needing more information to further isolate it. Just to verify, which program are you using when this happened? Kindly specify the troubleshooting steps that you have done to rectify this.

We'll be waiting for your update and response.
