I'm having a problem with my realtek bluetooth 4.0 driver. I have windows 10. It wasn't showing up in device manager unless I clicked on show hidden devices. I followed the steps listed at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_7-hardware/there-is-a-problem-with-realtek-bluetooth/e12e093f-c2ba-463a-b50d-c88b77f91839 and tried redownloading the drivers and reinstalling them. I did but windows gave me an error that basically said no appropriate driver to install. I got the driver from lenovo who makes my laptop cause I have a lenovo G50-45 Laptop.

Windows update isn't even picking it up. What do I do?

So, after researching this problem all night and updating various drivers, I have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the way windows restarts the system. When I press restart and it shut off and automatically restarts, there is something wrong with the way it does that. Cause the bluetooth gets disconnected from the system. I have to actually press the shut down button and then manually restart my laptop. Then after a few minutes after it turns on, I notice that the bluetooth is showing up every where AND it works! So, Microsoft and Realtek need to come up with a solution for this problem cause a LOT of people are having this problem. I hope this saves someone from the giant migraine that I now have from working on this all night. Don't restart your system. Just turn it off and then back on.

Thank you for keeping updated. We checked the screenshot, there's a failed driver installation/update. This is the common cause why the devices that we're connecting to our computer unable to work properly. We suggest uninstalling the third-party driver from your Device Manager. That fix that you posted at the bottom doesn't do anything, if I can't install the driver.

    Hello Loki,

There are a lot of possible causes why you're having an issue when connecting your Bluetooth device to your laptop. For better assistance, we'd like to ask a few questions:

    1. Press Windows key + I.
    2. Click Update and security > Update history.
    3. You'll find if there's any KB updates that your system failed to update. Kindly send us a screenshot.
    • Did you make any changes to your laptop and Bluetooth devices before experiencing this issue?

Meanwhile, we recommend checking the article about Fix Bluetooth problems in Windows 10: FAQ on this link.
