No worries. I've figured it out myself. Spent all day on this though. I wish MS would get this networking thing down. It seems after every update to Windows 10 something goes awry. Like disabling SMBv1. Seems I missed this item in the W10 change log for build version 10.0.16299.15. That one change broke all connections from Windows to my CentOS machines. In any case, I learned that disabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP in each of the network prophrties was the solution to viewing all the Windows machines in the Network Explorer as WSD and not NetBIOS.
Windows 10 Pro PC not using WSD discovery method
I have a mixed Windows home network setup. On my on, I re-enable SMBv1 on the Windows 10 machines. And they are both running the latest Creators Update 16299.
(1) PC - Windows 7 Pro = Compute Browser Service is enabled
(2) PC - Windows 10 Pro = Compute Browser Service is disabled
(3) Laptop - Windows 10 Home = Compute Browser Service is disabled
When I navigate to the Network Explorer to view the computer list, machines 1 and 3 are using WSD and 2 is using NetBIOS.
What do I need to do get machine 2 to use WSD?
