hi,

I'm having problem running Adapt Builder2015 Software(engineering software), which will run with no error in windows 7.

I bought a surface pro2017 laptop, yesterday & every time I try to run this program(Adapt) , the error message "server busy, this action cannot be completed because the other program is busy" will apear & stay on the screen & the program will not run. I updated to the latest windows 10 fall creator but the error remains & I don't know what to do.

I tried to turn off every service in msconfig command & I realized that when I stop the "touch keaboard & handwriting panel service", the program main screen(Adapt) apears but after one click, the error message shows again.

thanks for your attention

Have you tried contacting the vendor to find out about support for Windows 10 and if there any patches or updates available?

If its the 2015 version, it likely was released in 2014, which means, its probably designed for Windows 8.1 or earlier. You would most likely need to get a latest version such as 2018 if they have that.

    uninstall the software.

    Open Start

    Type: cmd

    Right click CMD

    Click Run as administrator

    At the command prompt, type:

    net user administrator/active:yes

    Hit Enter

Close command prompt, restart, then try signing into the Administrator account.

    reinstall the program again.

    or

    Try compatibility mode...

If it came out in 2015, it likely is compatible with Windows 8.1...

The first thing you need to do is point where the setup files are located. If you are installing from a thumb drive or CD/DVD. Launch File Explorer (Windows key + E) and open the location where the setup files are stored.

Right click the setup file for the program, this can be designated as setup.exe or something similar. Click Troubleshoot Compatibility

This will launch the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter wizard which will check for issues.

    Select the option “Troubleshoot program”

Depending on the problems you are experiencing when attempting to install or use the software, check off the problems. In my case:

‘The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won’t install or run now’

    The program requires additional permissions.

    Click Next

Select a version of Windows the program is known to work in. Give Windows 8.1 a try then Click Next

Proceed to run the through the programs setup routine by clicking Test the program….

Follow the on screen instructions to install the program as you normally would.

If all is successful, click the option at the end of the wizard ‘Yes, save these settings for this program’

Wait while your settings for the program are saved.

    Click Close.

This is an old software and not certified to be compatible with Windows 10.

However, you can try running this in compatibility mode
