Hi,

I currently have version 15.7.27703.2035 of Visual Studio 2017 installed in the system. If I install 15.9.28307.586 of Visual Studio 2017 will the 15.7.27703.2035 version automatically uninstall i.e VS 2017 will automatically upgrade?

Please do let me know.

Installing the Update will make it so the only version of Visual Studio 2017 will be 15.7.27703.2035 on your machine.

    Hi @Goswami,Ikshaku ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

If you have 15.7…2035 version of VS 2017 installed, and 15.9….586 version of VS 2017 to install, then if they are both Community version or both Professional version or both Enterprise version, the 15.7…2035 version of VS 2017 will not automatically uninstall, and the 15.9…586 version of VS 2017 will not install, instead, a “Update available” window will appear and if you click Update, your previous version of VS 2017(15.7…) will update to 15.9…586 version.

But if they are not both Community, Professional and Enterprise edition, for example one is VS 2017 Professional, and the other is VS 2017 Community, you can install both of them in one machine and the previous version of VS 2017 will not update.

    Best Regards,
    Tianyu
