Error in Installing/Uninstalling Program in Windows10 (The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect)

Hi,

I have recently restarted my PC to install updates. But during the process, it went blue screen telling installing updates cannot continue. There were options like pressing F8 for startup settings and F9 or F10 to continue using other OS. I pressed the latter because upon pressing F8, it just went again to installing updates cannot continue. It somehow continued to restart the PC but now I am encountering problems such that I cannot access the uninstall program in Control Panel. I managed to install Anti-Virus and it has cleaned my PC from worm hoping that I can now uninstall a program but got same result. I tried CCleaner but a dialog box kept on poping saying "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log... (and so on)". I researched fixes about this, and found installing Microsoft C++ 2005 and 2008 will help but I cannot install it.

Please help. TIA

    Hi

    The best way to resolve your issue will be repairing the windows 10 again. It will be quick and easy. I guess due to the update didn't installed properly there might be some issue with the user account that you have

    To do the repair you need to download the iso file from Microsoft here is the link for that  

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

    Download the media creation tool from there

    and when you open the media creation tool; it will ask if you want to update the windows or download the iso file

    choose the second option and iso will download

    Once you download it .

    Open the iso file normally, Run the setup file and repair the windows if that fails to work than you can do the custom without format in that type of installation you will be able to safe the data but you will loose all the installed applications.

    To run the custom without format

    Once you open the iso file. Go to sources folder and than go to setup file and install the windows from there

    These option will be the only option that will help you in resolving the issue properly and it will be quick
