Example I have an email which is dated in the header March 12, 2016 and in the footer 03/10/2016 which is the correct date.
Do you mean the mail date shows March 12, 2016 here like in the following screenshoot?
While in the footer, the sender added the sending date (for example in signature) to the email which is 03/10/2016.
If I misunderstood anything, please feel free to correct me.
Here are several questions:
- Did you actually receive the email on 03/10/2016 instead of 03/12/2016?
- And since the email was sent and received five years ago, do you have other recent emails with the same problem?
If there are any, please provide some examples with screenshots or in text if possible.
(Please remember to hide your personal information for security)
And would you please also check the date in message header via Outlook?
Here are the steps:
- open the email
- locate File>Properties
- check Date information(under the From,To,CC,Subject part) in the Internet headers
