Good Afternoon All,

We have an RDS farm that has suddenly this week started hanging at a Black screen during login for around 5 minutes. Once the desktop is displayed, the start menu does not work.

I have traced through EventViewer and have found the error below

  • System
    • Provider
      [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Immersive-Shell

    ErrorCode -2147023170

This is a non-persistant RDS farm and as such a restart will remove the error for a couple of days.

The only information I am finding online is regarding UAC, however this has not been changed since we created the RDS farm a year ago, and we have had no issues until now.

    Hi,

    Please kindly confirm below information.

    1. If we locally log into the RDS Server, will the same issue happen?
    2. Apart from above event log, is there any other event related to remote desktop service at the issue time?

I found below article which describes a very similar event log as you have shared. Please read it and see if there is any help for you.

    Thanks,
