Win 10 Version 1709: External syskey.

Question

Need to know External Syskey to be able to make it an Internal Syskey but don't.  What should I do to be able to complete Update Version 1709?  How important is it to be able to do this?

Why would I block the upgrade?  It wasn't allowed to happen.  Am I missing any other Win 10 features if I shift to Bitlocker? 

I'll try to figure out how to apply the Bitlocker change when I figure out how it works.  Thanks.

If scammers installed a syskey on your system, then what you should have done all along was back your data and perform a clean install.

Go to a working computer, download, create a bootable copy, then perform a clean install.

How important is it to upgrade to the 1709 Version?  Can I skip it and still upgrade to the next Version when it comes out without fixing the Syskey problem.  I was hacked 11/26/17 and had to pay ransomware to get into my computer.  They gave me a key to get back in but stupidly I didn't save it.  I think that would have allowed me to switch ot an Internal Syskey had I known it.  Now I'm kind of sunk in terms of Version 1709 upgrade.

Microsoft says its no longer supported:

If you need it, then its best you block the upgrade or consider switching to BitLocker.
