Hi,

I've managed to establish which software was causing the issue, it seems to be McAfee BT Virus protect (free security software with my BT Broadband).

I've found that if I uninstall the McAfee software then issue disappears but if I reinstall it the issue comes straight back again. I'm just posting this here for reference in case any one else has the same issue.

I've tried to contact McAfee support but currently their website returns an error when you try to raise a ticket. If I do manage to get any feedback from them I'll add to this post.

Thanks.

Hopefully you have sorted your issue now mate, if not, I switched my security suite to BullGuard and I've not had an issue since. Bit of a pain as I got McAfee free from my broadband supplier but definitely worth it to get rid of the blue screens.

I have identical issue. Have had about 10 blue screens with Stop Code CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED which Reliability monitor shows to be caused by same Problem Signature as your screen above. I had a McAfee Internet Security update this morning but McAfee says no known problem and "McAfee doesn't cause blue screen problems". I am wondering if there might be some issue between Windows Defender and McAfee.

    Hello,

One of the reasons why your PC keeps on freezing is that there's a software installed on your PC that's malfunctioning. For us to elaborate the issue further, kindly answer the questions listed below:

    • Since when have you been experiencing this issue?
    • Were there any changes on your PC before this happened like software or updates installed?
    • Did you make any hardware changes recently?

For initial troubleshooting, we recommend that you make sure that your PC is up-to-date. Here's an article that you can visit to see how to update your Windows 10 PC: Update Windows 10.

We're looking forward to your response.
