Arrow Keys automatically highlighting text

While I was editing an email earlier I accidentally hit shift and an arrow key at the same time. Now, the arrow keys automatically highlight text without me pressing the shift key at all. I've tried turning off Num Lock but this doesn't work either. How can I turn this off?

I would recommend that you should reset your keyboard. There are 2 ways to reset keyboard (Driver Update and Language one).

    Restart after resetting.

Let us know the results. If above doesn't work, will provide other options.
