How to automatically refresh all the data in the excel and word documents in SharePoint Online?

Hi,

I have an urgent requirement to refresh all the content in the excel and word document templates stored in a document library in SharePoint Online.

Is there a way to automatically refresh the content in all the excel and word documents?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hi, @sravya shivapuram ,

    Would you like to say a bit more about your situation? As you mention, you wan to "refresh" the content in the template stored in a library. Are they templates of custom content type used in that library, or simply documents stored there ? I assume your requirements are actually like this:

    1. Different custom content types with templates are used in the library. And a bunch of documents generated from them
    2. Now you want to update these templates with new data or content.
    3. And the problem now is that you do not know how to apply the new template to already created documents.

    If my assumption above is correct, this can not be done.

    And if that is not what you mean, please share us with more information about your task now.

    Sure, here are the answers for each question:

    1.Different custom content types with templates are used in the library. And a bunch of documents generated from them

    These word and excel templates are associated with same custom content type. These templates have data connections that connect to Azure SQL.
    A PDF is generated from these templates that clubs all of their information together.

    2.Now you want to update these templates with new data or content.

    There is a feature called 'Refresh Links' in our application. So whenever a user selects a site and clicks on 'Refresh Links', I want the data in all of these excel templates ( that are residing in the documents library of that particular site) to get refreshed with the latest content ( similar to clicking on 'refresh All' after opening an excel document). These excel templates contain tables ( data from Azure SQL)

    3.And the problem now is that you do not know how to apply the new template to already created documents

    No, I am not concerned about already created documents i.e PDF generated from these templates.
    But I want to update these existing excel templates with the latest data by refreshing.
