Windows Update Error 0x80245006, Clean boot issues (Virus?)

Today I wanted to give my old Windows 10 laptop new updates (it wasn't updated for over half a year). I instantly got the 0x80245006 error code.

Then I found the following answer: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8\_1-update/windows-update-error-0x80245006/6eb47eed-2eb9-4bd3-a106-d8aca5b7c79b?auth=1

The main answer didn't help, but in the replies I found a Clean Boot suggestion. After I did everything from the article, I restarted, disabled Kaspersky and tried to update. I was told that it isn't able to connect to the Update Service and suggested to check my internet connection. I started Waterfox and it told me that it wasn't able to connect to the proxy. I definitely never set up a proxy! After removing it from Waterfox settings, sites began to load. Now I'm guessing that some virus put proxy settings all over my PC and I disabled something from Autostart that was handling them. Where could proxies be set up in the system and what do I do next?

The proxy settings can be found in the Windows settings and in the Internet Explorer options.

You may also check this article on how to configure Internet Explorer proxy settings. If the issue still persists, you may now proceed to resetting the Internet Explorer proxy settings. To do so, follow the steps here.

Found a localhost:8003 proxy in the Settings App.

Seems like Kaspersky didn't completely remove the virus, since the proxy was working before I attempted Clean Boot.

Now "normal" Windows Update is downloading the latest updates.

Anywhere else I should look at the proxy settings?

    Hi,

Corruption within the Windows Update components is one of the possible reasons as to why you're having issues with installing the updates. To assist you with your concern, we suggest that you follow the troubleshooting steps provided on this link to fix Windows Update issues.

When I download the Updater and start it, I get the same "check you internet connection" message (Windows SmartScreen can't be reached right now).

So, I really believe that I virus has set a system-wide proxy.

Waterfox has no problems connecting to the internet after I removed it from its settings.

EDIT: Oh, SmartScreen seems to be something unrelated. After I started the updater, I got the same "check your connection" message.
