Cannot save advanced settings in Azure portal API Management > Application Insights settings

In Azure portal > API Management resource > APIs > All APIs > Settings > Application Insights
If Application Insights is enabled, and Advanced options is chosen, and Frontend Request is ticked, then save is clicked
Portal notification shows changes to API Management settings were saved.
However, if the process is repeated to view the existing settings, the Frontend Request box is not shown as ticked.

It's unclear whether the issue is that the change was not persisted, or that the checkboxes do not update on opening to reflect the current state.

There appears to be no workaround that I can find in the azure portal

    Based on what you are seeing, I would assume you don't have any headers set to log and/or number of payload bytes to log set to 0. Changing either of these would affect the log behavior and the UI.
