Error 0xc000012f.

Hi i my windows 10 (pro) OS automatically updated itself to version 1709 ever since i updated to version 1709 i am receiving Error 0xc000012f. "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCR120.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.Error status 0xc000012f."

i dont know how to fix this please help me

Hi Carl,

The MSVCR120.dll file is referring to Visual Studio 2013.

Let us uninstall and re-install Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable by following these steps:

  1. Press Windows key + R, type control appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
  2. Click on Windows features turn on or off on the left pane.
  3. Uncheck on the box Visual C++ Redistributable and click on OK.
  4. Reinstall it by checking on the box again.

If the result is still the same, download the latest Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013  for English - United States from this link.
