For months on end, mirosoft programmer/trusted handler has been taking up house in my laptop.  He uses  "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" to gain access to my laptop.  I just recently was upgraded to Windows 10 1709  16299.125   Any idea?

Thank you for your reply.

The MICROSOFT Programmer/Trusted Handler is from MICROSOFT!!!!!!

I recently received the Fall Creators Update (Win 10 1709  16299.125) and the MS programmer/Truster Handler comes and goes all day.  He is apparently getting files ready for some reason and following up on the event log that my laptop produces.  I do not have a hacker in my laptop!!!

Here is the screenshot of the IP scan I just completed.  Jeter.home under IP 192xxx. is what the programmer is using tonight.  I never use the IP that he is using.  He logs on through IP4v.

What I need to know is how long will he be residing in/on my laptop doing Microsoft stuff.  I would like to request that you forward this thread to a Microsoft Engineer so that he/she can comment on it.  Thanks for your help.  I hope to hear from the engineer.

We would like to confirm what is happening with your laptop. To give us an idea and to help us provide the appropriate resolution for your concerns with this programmer and your computer, we’d like to ask you a few questions:

Questions about this Microsoft Programmer / Trusted Handler:

    • Are you referring to an actual person that works like a computer technician that is visiting your house often?
    • Did you ask for this hands-on support from Microsoft?
    • What issues do you have on your computer that makes you call an actual person to get a hand on your computer?
    • How did you get contacted with this person?

    Questions about your computer:

    • Which version or build of Windows device are you using? To know, press Windows + R to open the Run window. Type winverand press Enter. A new window will open showing the version and build number of your Windows device.
    • What were the recent changes made on your computer that makes you ask for actual assistance to look on your computer?
    • Did you receive any error messages?

In addition, you can read this article: Protect yourself from tech support scams to make sure that you can prevent this from happening again.

We’re looking forward to your response.

    Hi Julie,

When someone knows all your computer details, they will surely have a complete access to your device. Intruders will use the Remote Desktop feature to control everything on your computer like a person that is actually present using it. For now, we will recommend enabling your computer's security features like Windows Firewall.

Protecting your PC with Windows Firewall is a convenience, you don’t even need to install other security software to achieve this since it will cause incompatibility issues with our security features. However, if you have other anti-virus programs with firewall feature, it is recommended that you need to choose only one and set it as default. This means it will require you to turn off the other one to avoid conflicts.

To switch on the Windows Firewall, follow these steps:

    1. Click Ask me anything.
    2. Type Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
    3. Click Windows Firewall Properties, then choose a network profile**.**
    4. From here, there's an option to turn it on or off the Firewall state.

To increase your computer’s security or protect you against malware and viruses, you can read more by referring to this article: Help protect my device with Windows Defender Security Center.

Let us know if you need more assistance.
