Try changing the drive letter in the admin. I had a 4TB drive that was really messed up after the Creator update. Nothing worked to fully restore it. Yes, of course I had backup ups but you are never sure if everything is up to date. MS has not addressed this issue nor has the drive manufacturer. Very irresponsible in my opinion.
D: Drive Missing After Windows Update
My computer updated this afternoon while I was gone. When I got back, on logging in it told me my page file had been changed. In addition, I found that ALL of my random drives (Google, OneDrive, Dropbox etc) no longer could link - I got errors to that effect. Then I tried to open my D: drive (which initially showed up in Explorer but now does not) and found that it "did not exist."
I realize that everyone needs their stuff - but I REALLY need my stuff!
I did open up Drive Management and found that it looks like the D: drive is listed there - but it says it's "100% Free" which is HUGELY TROUBLING.
I am a software person not a hardware person, and I have no one to help me fix this. Can you PLEASE give me a simple solution to correct the problem?!
Laura

2017-12-16T03:46:16+00:00 I am experiencing the same problems. Update ran without permission, and after startup the D:// drive has disappeared. Tried looking for it with disk manager, but to no avail. I am not inclined to believe this spontaneous hardware failure.
The build with the missing D:// drive: OS Build 16299.125

2017-11-15T07:30:04+00:00 Looks like I have the same problem. But I can't get in to do anything. It just keeps restarting. And shutting down the update destroyed me no physical disk to reboot as I have online office 365. Now what ?

2018-02-15T21:35:59+00:00 I have the same problem with a missing 4 TB disk after the 1709 update but have yet to see any MS answer as to how one might restore valuable data. You can't send an error message if the disk is missing.
