Windows 10 keeps adding unwanted input methods automatically

I live in Slovakia, but I'm using mostly English while working, so I used to have (before the update 1709) 2 input methods:

  • English (United States) / US keyboard
  • Slovak / Slovak (QWERTY) keyboard

Everything was perfectly fine, I was able to switch to the wanted method immediately.

After the damned 1709 update, system keeps adding 2 more input methods for some reason:

  • English (United Kingdom) US keboard
  • English (United Kingdom) UK keyboard

I have no idea why UK, apparently system knows better than me!

Even if I manage to remove those 2 unwanted method, system will just add them again after restart.

So now I have 4 methods so switching between them is pain in the ass.

Why are you doing this to your customers?

I found some UK related stuff in my settings:

    • Handwriting (GB)
    • Optical character recognition (GB)
    • Speech recognition (GB)
    • Text to speech (GB)
    • Typing (GB)

Where did these come from? I never set GB for anything. Heck, I don't even use those "features", I'm pretty sure they're disabled.

How do I get rid off all GB references? I can't see any option to remove it anywhere.

GB/UK is not in my language list! Why is it being used then?

Why do Windows updates keep messing with user settings? It's unacceptable behavior!

    Hi,

This issue with additional inputs available in your Windows 10 could have happened due to the compatibility of your keyboard or updates from your keyboard. To resolve your issue, we suggest that you switch input and language preference. You can follow the steps provided in this article.

If the issue still occurs, we suggest that you uninstall updates. You can follow the steps provided by Sumit Dhiman2 on October 3, 2015 in this thread. This will give you steps uninstalling updates and prevent installing updates.

Let us know the result if you need further assistance.
