Azure AD Connection and moving tenants

We're going to be moving our Office 365 to a new tenant soon, and I'm just wondering what repercussions this is going to have on Azure DevOps, and what steps we will have to take to prevent any issues.
DevOps doesn't appear to be connected to Azure AD at this point. If I go to Organisation Settings > General > Azure Active Directory there is just a button that says 'connect directory.'
However, if a user is added to DevOps manually, and assigned to a team in a project, the 'type' column in the list of users shows 'aad user' for this person who was added manually. Is there some other sort of connection with Azure AD here that I don't know about? Or does aad stand for something other than Azure Active Directory in this case?
