Error Codes

I have been receiving multiple error codes, and all of the troubleshooting on the 'fix windows update issues' section (which I was directed to after searching the error code) have not solved the problem.

When I try to download an app from the store I get the message 'something went wrong', followed by the code 0x80070032, and 'the request is not supported'. I sent feedback on this, but when I tried to sign in to the feedback hub I got the same error message. I have experienced the same thing while looking in the Settings, trying to fix the other error message.

The other error message occurs when I try to sign in with my pin on my computer. This error code was 0x8009002d. I can sign in using my password, but it is annoying to have set up a pin that I suddenly cannot use.

My laptop is less than a year old and is fully updated. Apparently many of the errors I have been experiencing have occurred after the most recent Windows 10 update for others?

Please help as these errors are becoming very inconvenient!

Cleo, with regards to your PIN concern, you may refer to the provided resolution by Kapil Arya MVP posted on this thread.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Julie,

I removed the pin, restarted my laptop, added the pin again, and then restarted again, but still got the error. Is there another step I could try?

However, the second issue is resolved. I ran the Windows App Troubleshooter again and managed to download the app with no problems, thank you!

    Hi Cleo,

Conflicts with the user settings is one of the possible reasons as to why you're getting an error code 0x8009002d when trying to login using your PIN. To help you in resolving this, try to remove the PIN for the meantime and use the PASSWORD. Restart the PC and then, re-add the PIN.

With regards to the error code 0x80070032 that you receive when trying to download an application from the Microsoft Store, it would be best that you run the Windows App Troubleshooter.

If the app troubleshooter didn't work for you, I would suggest that you reset Windows Store cache. To do so, follow the steps below:

    1. Close Windows Store app.
    2. In the Start menu search box, type WSReset.
    3. Right-click on WSReset and then click Run as administrator option. Click Yes button when you see the User Account Confirmation box.
    4. The Store app should now automatically launch along with the Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window will automatically disappear after a couple of seconds.

Do get back to us with the results.
