Font installation

I am able to install most fonts into windows 10 successfully. I have a truetype font that will not install.

It appears to install, but is not available to any programs. I have uninstalled it, removed it from the windows font folder as well as the windows registry. I still shows as already installed if I click on the Install font button, copy & Paste into the windows font folder, or drag and drop it into the font folder. I have removed it from the font folder, the windows font folder and the registry to support a clean install. I have tried a clean install on a different computer, and it still won't install and be available for use in any program.

This is a font from a reputable provider. it has been downloaded as a zip file and unzipped. It has also been downloaded from an email from the font designer, so I don't think it is corrupted.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions?

    Hi,

I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise with Microsoft Word 2016 (version is 6.1 with Build 7601: Service Pack 1). I've installed a new set of Fonts from an online page - the font is called Raleway, and it includes Regular, Bold, Semi-bold, etc. I successfully installed all 3 of them, however, only  the Regular font is available to use (no Bold or Semi-bold). Please help. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, checked through Control Panel, and nothing works. Please help.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern. There is a possibility that there is a program that is blocking the font to be installed properly. To help you with this, we would like to know more information about your computer. Please answer the following questions below:

    • What is the build version of Windows that you are using? To check it, type in winver on Search bar and hit Ok.
    • Have you installed other programs prior this concern?

Meanwhile, you can perform a clean boot to make sure that no programs are blocking the installation. Or, you can create a new user account and install the font from there.

We'll be waiting for your response and the result.
