DCOM errors EventID 10016

Hello,

First, let me say that i already have read quite a few past topics on this issue and already tried what was suggested (take ownership as admin in registry, use Component Services to modify Launch and Activation and add the Administrators group etc. These things do NOT work in my case, at all.

A few details: this DCOM error appears each time I start my browser, Opera. They might appear on other applications, but so far, I can only connect them to Opera with 100% certainty.

Exact error is:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}

and APPID

{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}

to the user DESKTOP-XXXXXXXX\razXX SID (S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I have revisited the settings i modified in regedit and component services a few times to make sure everything is correct, and it looks like it is. The owner is myself, as in part of Administrators group, the Administrators are added with full permissions, and yet the error pops up each time I launch Opera, with full certainty. I understand this might not impact the OS performance, yet I'd still love to clean the Event Log from these pesky errors.

Any help appreciated - but please don't copy/paste to me the previous troubleshooting steps or direct me to past topics without a real solution. If it's truly necessary, I can post screenshots as proof that those steps were performed.

    Unless the error is actually also tied to something causing a problem i would ignore it. Most event viewer errors can be and should be safely ignored.

    If you really want to troubleshoot the issue (which is likely to be fruitless).

    The odds are the error is actually in Opera (even an add-in), the network drivers used, any 3rd party antivirus, or a startup program. If it is in Windows then only the developers are likely to be able to help.

    Check with Opera Support and Forums.

    Is there any specific info in the lower pane of the Event Viewer log.

    Using Event Viewer to Troubleshoot Problems

    https://www.howtogeek.com/school/using-windows-...

    FullEventLogView - Free is a simple tool for Windows 10/8/7/Vista that displays in a table the details of all events from the event logs of Windows, including the event description. It allows you to view the events of your local computer, events of a remote computer on your network, and events stored in .evtx files. It also allows you to export the events list to text/csv/tab-delimited/html/xml file from the GUI and from command-line.

    TIP : Options - Advanced Options - allows you to see a time frame instead of the whole file - set it to a bit before and after the time of the EVENT.

    Try the Clean Boot method to see if a startup program is involved - if so it is a process of elimination :

    Right Click the start button - Command Prompt (Admin) OR Windows PowerShell (Admin) - at the prompt type in

    MSCONFIG

    and hit enter
