Security certificate errors and slow computer after hard reset

I have just completely reset my computer to remove old unused files. It was running fine before, but now it's super slow and gives me certificate errors whenever I open a webpage In a browser. Most things I do in edge are delayed (even deleting this text takes forever) and internet explorer loads blank pages if at all. This never happened before I reset everything.

When using my school internet my computer just flat out blocks websites because they aren't trusted/ don't have the correct certificate. Even google docs is blocked.

I would really like to know how to remove the security errors and speed things up as this is really frustrating me.

My laptop is running Windows 10 and nothing I have found on this forum has helped fix the problems so far.

Thanks,

Laina.

Hi Laina,

Most of the time, this case is caused by an incorrect Date and time settings. You may check and correct. it as this usually resolves the issue.

Let us know what happens after correcting the date and time.

Yes, I experience the same things with other browsers such as Chrome as well. The certificate errors and blocked webpages can be seen in the screenshots from a variety of different browsers.

The reset was completed through my laptop's settings under security and update I beleive. I chose the option to remove everything.

I have been using two different Microsoft accounts with no difference in speed and security.

I have tried updating the computer, turning off windows defender and even resetting my browsers. This only resulted in more blocked pages (such as Microsoft.com.)

    Hi Laina,

Certificate errors and slow performance issues can be a possible result of profile, system file, and Windows update components corruption. Let's examine some details to get into the bottom of your concern. Please answer the following questions:

    • Aside from Edge and Internet Explorer, do you experience the same thing using other browsers? If so, can you provide us with a screenshot of the security certificate errors that you're getting?
    • How did you accomplish or complete the reset?
    • Is the error confined to a single profile or Microsoft account? Or do you encounter the same concern using another account (local and Microsoft account)?
    • What specific procedures have you taken so far?
