Good Morning, I would like to know if is possible to set up a private folder (whit access restricted) within a Team channel. To be more clear, what I want is to create a folder to which only 3 person have access while another 6 person have access to the resto of information upload in the channel. Please, if you need more detailed don't hesitate to ask. Thanks in advance, Pepe

    Hi @De Santiago, Jose Ignacio

    As michev said above, it is more convenient for you to create a new private channel and invite the specific member to channel.

    As a supplement, you can also try to add a new document library in your channel and edit the file permission in SharePoint Online. The following steps are for your reference:

    1.Click the Files Tab from your Team’s channel page and select Open in SharePoint.

    2.Click Site Contents and create a new document library.

    3.Create a new Folder here and grant permissions for the specific user.

    4.Now only the owner and specific member have access to enter folders.

    5.In Teams client, add a new tab “document library” and paste the SharePoint Online link here.

    6.Now only Teams owner and specific member can see this folder in the document library.

    Within the same channel, everyone will have the same access. If you want only subset of the users to be able to access, create a new Private channel: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/private-channels
    Alternatively, you can play with the SPO permissions directly, but this is not a supported scenario.

    @JimmyYang-MSFT ,
    This is excellent...for internal users. I need a way to add external users to just specific folders in a team. People that wouldn't have access to our company's SharePoint 'system', but we need for different people from different agencies to upload documents to their own agency's folder, without seeing the folders of other agencies. Does that make sense? And we don't want to have to create a dozen teams to do this - we want to create 1 team with folders that have the permissions like you explained above.
