STOP changing MY computer settings

Question

i'm tired of windows updates changing everything and then i have to spend half a day trying to get everything back to the way "I" want it on all of MY computers.  NOT how microsoft thinks it should be.  why should i not move to linux?

I've noticed this as well. When you install a new cumulative update or

often times things like app updates will be switched back to auto update, but there are many more things as well.

MS needs to fire the CEO Satya Nadella and bring someone on board that understands that the customer is the most important part of any business.

I agree, BILLIONAIRE BILLY BOY needs to come back and get his corporation back on track and replace these clowns running Microsoft.

But there is a board of people and it is not that easy to do.

I say ask Paul Allen back, he was the real brains behind the OS and MS and I think always had a better understanding of what users and customers want from their OS and how to make that a reality. Even if he didn't want to take on the CEO position bring him back as a consultant and have him oversee the selection of the new CEO.

HMM, I have never had that happen.

Only when you have a corrupted network or network change, your desktop arranged icons could be or will all reset in the default random order on your desktop.

Other than that from XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, never had this happen on my systems or any I worked on.

I can't think of a good reason why you wouldn't. Linux is a very competent operating system. Besides, nobody here represents Microsoft, so feel free to do whatever you like.

One of the inconveniences of an update is that sometimes certain configurations are reset to defaults. There's nothing new about this. I've noticed it in every Windows operating system I've used, and I go back a long way. I've also noticed it in Microsoft Office. Big deal.

Something else you'll sometimes notice are brand new configuration settings that you only discover when you accidentally come  across them. Surprise! That's how software works.
