Hi, I am currently running windows xp on a Acer Veriton system. when i first got the computer from a friend, windows was corrupt so i bought a new windows xp disk. As i was in the setup process, it asked me if my pc was a ATM or a cash register. I clicked cancel and it worked perfectly fine. But now as of 2018, it is still prompting me for updates even though it is not  supported anymore. Does my computer have malwares or is it corrupt?

Where did you buy the CD from?

It might be the CD was for ATM. Many ATM still use Windows Xp. This is why it still get updates and business that pay for support get Windows Xp updates still.

You might want to scan your computer for malware.
