Windows 7 computer will not detect new device

Hello,

I have a question regarding my Windows 7 computer which will not detect my new AVR programmer device. I have read on many different webpages that to install the correct drivers to use my device, my computer has to actually detect it first to be listed under "Other devices" in my "Device Manager.

But this has not happened as when I plug it into my computer, the board lights up yet my Device Manager does not show any new devices being plugged in. I have plugged in other devices in the same USB port that get recognised and I am out of ideas.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    This could be a hardware issue. You may try to make sure that all devices in Device Manager are shown even those that are hidden. You can also boot to safe mode with networking and try to install the driver from there. If the issue persists, check with the manufacturer for possible hardware failure.
