Screen changing brightness constantly!!!

This has now become infuriating for me so any help would be appreciated.

Basically, I have noticed that my display changes from very bright to very dim every ten seconds or so. It happens especially when I watch a video in fullscreen (netflix or amazon prime).

I have spent days on the web trying out different suggestions on how to stop this from happening but to no success (and yes I have tried changing adapative brightness to disabled in the advance power options!). Even considered reinstalling windows 10 but that is the very last resort.

Thanks.

Hi Ryan,

If the display on your computer still dims even if the adaptive brightness has been disabled, then there's a possibility that the Display Power Saving Technology or the Adaptive Contrast Enhancement has been enabled. To disable both options, follow these steps:

  1. Search for and launch Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel.
  2. Click Power > Battery.
  3. Uncheck Display Power Saving Technology, then click Apply.
  4. Go back to the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel main menu.
  5. Click Advanced > Media > Image Enhancement.
  6. Uncheck Adaptive Contrast Enhancement and include as well the Film Mode Detection, then click Apply.

Please update this thread with the result so I can assist you further if needed.

Regards.
