Active Directory Group Name Change

I have an Active Directory security group that is synchronized to Azure AD with Azure AD connect. The AAD group has an Intune device configuration policy targeted at it. I may need to change the name of the AD group. My understanding is that as the GUID of the group will remain the same, the change of name of the group will be just 'cosmetic' and have no impact or effects. Is this understanding correct or is there anything else to consider?

    Yes, your assumption is right. This is just cosmetic change, it will not affect your targetting.
