Windows Update troubleshooting error messages

Ran the Troubleshooter for Windows Upgrade. Got Issue Found: Potential Windows Update Database error detected - - Not Fixed Then it reported: Repair Windows Update Database Corruption . . . . Completed.  One troubleshooting step to resolve WU issues is to delete and re-download updates to your computer. Would you like to try this step now? Depending on your network configuration, you may incur download costs.

My problem is there does not appear to be a place to answer the question YES!

Guess it off to a internet search to find the answer.

Don't know if this would have helped or not. I have apparently fixed the problem as the update finally got going after I ran the SFC.exe with the scannow option as suggested in another site.

My real concern was that the information in the troubleshooter output asked the question without providing any option to answer yes or no. Seems a link should have been provided so if you answer yes, you would be taken to some URL or given some information to complete the task.

Thanks for the reply and information. I really appreciate the effort put into providing me some suggestions.

The first step would be to try resetting Windows updates using an automatic script. See:

Make sure you run the script as an administrator.
