Distinguish between a plain Type-C port and a Thunderbolt 3 port

The current computer has two Type-C ports, one is ordinary Type-C port, the other is Thunderbolt 3 ports.If a USB device is connected to this computer via Type-C, is there any way to know which Type-C port the device is plugged into?Sincerely hope to know the answer or train of thought, thank you very much!

    Hi,

    Apologies for my delayed response.

    I think product handbook of the computer should include description of which one is Type-C and which is Thunderbolt 3.

    If the handbook doesn't include the information, we may need a Thunderbolt 3 device and connect it to the ports one by one. When it connects successfully, we can say that port is a Thunderbolt 3 port.

    All Thunderbolt 3 is USB-C compatible
    All USB-C is not Thunderbolt 3 compatible!

    So a Thunderbolt 3 device is needed in this method. Please see, What’s the difference between USB-C and Thunderbolt 3?
