Windows update shows error code 800705B9 Unable to install updates...WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE

Question

i am unable to install the recent july patch from microsoft. Every time i try to download it it shows this error. What do I do?Previous all updates are installed.

Download the KB update from

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com

Search for the KB at top right. Download KB version for Win7 and 2008 Server, in the open dialog there will appear by

memory 5 files, download them to a folder.

Open the folder and locate the file "ndp46-kb4338420-x64_eefd3a67dbfb754d713963b1b9888a5e75868882.exe"

right click the .exe and run as administrator

The install process will start.

If for some reason the KB won't install, navigate to

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA

You will see a folder named "S-1-5-18" right click this folder and select rename, rename folder to "S-1-5-18.BAK" click OK, another dialog will appear click continue.

Then try the installation again

Open Control Panel, select Programs and Features, scroll to and list which Microsoft .Net Frameworks are currently Installed.

The error code you have provided is a .net framework installation error. When windows update downloads the update does it try to install it?

open Control Panel - Windows Update, once window is open select on left hand side menu View Update History, It will list the updates and the status also.

List which updates have Failed to install.
