Location Tracking - Android

Question

Is it, or is it NOT possible to use Microsoft's location tracker for my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and/or Samsung Galaxy S8?  How about keeping track of my location routes traveled or visited in the past...let's say... forever...... (or until you turn the program on)...??  Would I need to download and install an app for that?  Or does the 'Granddaddy of Gigibits', the 'Oz of Office Apps', with all the "Newest Technology" and "Innovating Ideas" Microsoft, not yet figured out how the Google Geeks Got it Going on?

If not MicroSoft itself, then maybe one of it's 'offspring' such as Bing Maps?

I use an S9 running Microsoft launcher, with Cortana as my default assistant. When I look at location history on my Microsoft account it shows my daily location history. Not sure if its the launcher or Cortana that is doing the recording.
