Windows Live Display Problems

I installed the Windows April 2018 update for Windows 10 yesterday. Today, I opened Windows Live Mail to find that the graphics have mutated in a way I can only describe as "weird". Part of the text from the left hand side, e.g. the email header, the contacts list etc, is reflected backwards and flipped 90degrees, appearing along the bottom of the screen above the task bar. Other programs such as Excel, Word, Photoshop, Edge and Mozilla seem to be functioning ok. The problem seems isolated to Windows Live Mail. I can't attach an image of this as it shows too much personal information but below is a snip of how the contacts window looks now. It's the same if I open a new folder in Windows live too.

I'd be grateful for some explanation or help how to fix it!

    … that isn't extraordinary!

Well, I've never seen anything like it before or since, so I'd reckon its out of the ordinary …

Do you know when or why the problem started? Was it after the April 2018 update?

Yes. The suggested solution (restore the file d3d10level9.dll in the folder c:\program files\windows live\mail) has corrected the problem on my PC. Thanks a lot.

    Yes, you are right!

I found the solution on that link you just mentioned.

It worked for me and I hope it will work for anyone else.

Microsoft should fix it somehow... even if it is not being supported but they could consider the number of people that uses it.

Unfortunately Mail isn´t a real replacement for WLM but maybe they could work on that to make it more similar to WLM?

Thanks for your help and initiative to find a solution!

    It really helped me.
