Make Narrator Echo All Keystrokes

My computer was recently reloaded and it works great. I noticed, however, that Narrator no longer echoes many keystrokes (for example: the function and arrow keys). Is there a way to make it echo all keystrokes? I didn’t see one of those. Perhaps there is a registry key hidden somewhere. Many setting modifications are done through the registry now; so, there might be something related to keyboard announcement for Narrator there. I did find it quite odd, though, how, when Narrator did echo more keystrokes, it echoed F20-F24 as “unknown key” rather than F20-F24.

    Hi Wads,

Please note that extra keys on a keyboard such as F20 - F24 are not usually within Narrator's scope. Meaning it wasn't program with those keys in mind. For further assistance with this issue, I highly recommend getting in contact with our Disability Answer Desk support as they have more technicality about Narrator and how you can maximize using them. You can contact them through this link. For now, I suggest using Caps Lock + 1 to be enable to turn on input learning. This will let Narrator echo the name of the key and its associated command.

Let me know if there's anything else you need.

Your suggestion worked. That looks to make Narrator echo keystrokes as it did before the latest update to Windows. It is a bummer that it doesn’t stay on though.
