Error code: 0xc000000f after windows 10 features update windows key doesn't work!!!!

Hello,

I have been getting a message on my ASUS vivobook to install a features update for windows 10 for months. My laptop has hardly any storage (only 32GB) so I couldn't find a way to install it. Today I found a method to install it using a USB drive which I did and I left it to install whilst I went to school. When I came back I saw a message on my laptop saying:

'Recovery

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.

Error code: 0xc000000f

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.

Press the Windows key for UEFI Firmware Settings'

I didn't have any installation media so I looked online and and found a question similar to the problem I was having (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_10-performance-winpc/windows-10-error-code-0xc000000f/765e013a-f3d0-472b-a92f-2f0ec14b0e6c) and I created a bootable USB flash drive using the first method.

I have plugged this in and nothing is happening. I also pressed the Windows key but again nothing happens. I have looked on the ASUS help page and they have nothing on their to do with this problem.

Please could someone help as have exams starting in a few weeks and I urgently need my laptop.

Thanks

I am going to recommend you downgrade to Windows 10 1703.

Step 1: download Windows 10 1703 from the following link:

    Choose the following:

    • Windows Final
    • Windows 10, version 1703
    • Windows 10 Pro + Home
    • English
    • x64 (64 bit) x32 (32 bit)

    Does Control + Esc work?

Restart your computer a few times to see if it helps.

Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot

    Scroll down

    Click Keyboards

    Click Run the Troubleshooter

When complete, restart to see if the problem is resolved.

Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port if its a USB wired keyboard.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Keyboards

    Right click keyboard

    Click Uninstall

    Exit Device Manager then restart

    Reset your BIOS defaults:

Try the keyboard with another computer to see if it works.

Check for the latest driver updates for your computer.
