Actually the VPN has no proxy settings. And it's a standard VPN account, the type is just set to Automatic and the server name is fully qualified (i.e. vpn.domain.com). The proxy is enabling only on my PC. Are there any error logs that can be provided that might be of assistance?
Proxy server enables itself when not required
In Windows 10, there are sometimes (I believe mostly when I start my PC), the proxy settings are enabled. This causes a few applications to not connect to the internet because I'm not using a proxy server.
So when I go to Settings->Network & Internet->Proxy, the option to "Use a proxy server" is set to On
Address: http://http=127.0.0.1
Port= 8082
Now to resolve this issue, I can simply turn the proxy server off here. I can also open up Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings, and disable the proxy here too.
What I'd like to do is permanently disable the proxy server option so it doesn't turn back on automatically. What is causing this to happen and how can I turn it off for good?

2018-06-13T15:08:00+00:00 So the VPN is setting the proxy and when you disconnect the proxy settings don't get removed.
Do you know what VPN solution you are using?

2018-06-13T13:33:16+00:00 This is a home PC but I do use a VPN occasionally to connect to my work environment. I would like to be able to use the VPN but also keep my proxy settings off (when not using the VPN).

This will cause proxy settings.
You can disable via a registry but i am worried if you do that and you use a VPN at any point then you will not be able to do anything in that VPN.
