I am using Asus UX330CA laptop with Win10 64 bit. After recent PC reset my SD card reader does not work. So far:

  • Installed all the drivers from ASUS support page (chipset, card reader, etc.)
  • I can see Alcor Micro USB 2.0 Card Reader under Device Manager USB Controllers.
  • When I insert SD card, it does not appear as a drive nor is seen in Disk Management.
  • I've checked the card, it works properly on other devices.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, none of the tips helped for my case.

    What helped was:

    1. Insert SD card. Alcor Micro.. device appears under USB Controllers in device manager.
    2. Disable the device
    3. Remove SD card. Device dissappears.
    4. Insert card again. Device reappears.
    5. Enable the device. Windows recognizes the card and shows it as a drive.

If card is removed and insert again, process starts at step 1 again.

Works with one of the 2 cards I have, so atm I'll assume other one is broken, until I can check it somewhere.

Obviously, this is pain in the ass solution, but at least it works for now.
