Hi,

My pending updates refer to Microsoft Office 2013 and because I have Office 2010 they keep failing to update.  This situation is preventing me from receiving relevant updates and the latest Windows update 1803.

e.g.

 Security Update for Microsoft Access 2013 (KB4011234) 64-Bit Edition - Error 0x8007006e

 Security Update for Microsoft Excel 2013 (KB4018399) 64-Bit Edition - Error 0x8007006e

 Security Update for Microsoft InfoPath 2013 (KB3054793) 64-Bit Edition - Error 0x8007006e

Security Update for Microsoft InfoPath 2013 (KB3114833) 64-Bit Edition - Error 0x8007006e

etc.

I've tried using Windows Update Repair tool without success.

Please help, many thanks.

Hi Stephen, Windows Update is installing these updates in error . . .

You can hide those updates so Windows will not try to install them

Download the tool from the link below, run that, in the list of pending updates, select those updates and click 'Hide' that will stop windows from attempting to install it:

    Hi Dave,

    Widows 1803 upgrade went well.

Unfortunately, I'm still getting the following Windows Update issues:-

    • Security Update for Microsoft Access 2013 (KB4011234) 64-Bit Edition -Error 0x8007006e
    • Security Update for Microsoft InfoPath 2013 (KB3054793) 64-Bit Edition -Error 0x8007006e
    • Security Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB3039782) 64-Bit Edition -Error 0x8007006e
    • .....
    • Update for Skype for Business 2015 (KB4018377) 64-Bit Edition -Error 0x8007006e

I don't have any Microsoft Office 2013 programs installed, so can you tell me why am I getting these updates and how can I get rid of them for good?

Thanks again for all your help.

You shouldn't see any Office 2013 updates unless you have at least some of Office 2013 installed.

Hi Stephen, probably your best option is to go straight for 1803 manually

With these major upgrades, the most successful method is to upgrade from the Windows 10 ISO - you download the ISO and then perform an Offline Upgrade

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), then choose ISO

When the ISO file completes downloading

    Disconnect from the Internet

Disable any 3rd party Antivirus you may be running

Then, double click it and then run Setup.exe to begin the upgrade . . .
