How to re-install camera driver

Hi those @ Microsoft Community,

I tried to fix my camera by uninstalling the driver, but now the camera does not even appear on Device Manager, even when I click "View hidden devices" and Scan for Hardware changes.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50-B025D. I've tried looking for camera drivers on the official support page, but to no avail.

Will a reboot fix the problem, or is it more difficult than that?

    Hi Greg,

The camera now appears in Device Manager, but only when I have the "Show hidden devices" box ticked. Furthermore, when I open the Camera app, I get a black screen. When I press the capture button, I get an error message with the code 0xA00f4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>

Hi David. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Yes, you would restart the PC to reinstall a driver you uninstall for that purpose.

If not then run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

I'm not sure why the driver isn't posted under any OS on the Toshiba page for your model. Try your full model or serial number to refine it.

Try also tracing the hardware ID: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
