iot-hub does not list any devices, while the overview states "Devices:1"

Question

iot-hub does not list any devices, while the overview states "Devices:1"

After creating a Iot Device with the response : Device successfully created. The list of devices is still empty. On refresh of the list, an error displays : Query devices Unable to retrieve devices. I can create another device with a different name , but using the same I get an error. Not sure how i can fix this.

there is a refresh button on the same page, is the device visible when you press it?

It seems to be a glitch on the Azure portal.

Please give some feedback while the issue occurs (see the icon in the upper right corner):

@KLid @JÖRG STRIEBEL We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. There are no issues at our end at the moment and I'm unable to reproduce this behaviour.
I just tried adding a new IoT Device and able to see it in the list.

@KLid You have mentioned, I can create another device with a different name , but using the same I get an error. You will not be able to use the same name if it is already used once.

If you still seeing the same error, i would suggest you clear your browser cookies, cache and history or try in-private mode and let us know if that solves your issue.
You can also log out and re-login to Azure Portal and see if there is any difference.

The issue seems to be resolved.

I check both an IoT Hub in West Europe and East US, the list of devices is visible again.

To clarify: if I create another device , it still does not show up in the list. The summary will show the correct device count of 2. I can not create with the same name, so the devices are created.
I just can't use them because they do not show in the device list.
Also the VSCode plugin ( for IOT Hub) displays an error when trying to list devices.

It stopped working after I followed this tutorial.

I created the IOT-Hub and group , then ran the : lab15-setup.azcli
The script detected the Hub and group , then failed on creating the device.

Also, when deleting the Iot Hub and creating a new one , the problem still remains.

@KLid I understand that you are following the learning page and facing this issue. I tried following the tutorial and not observing such issues.

You have mentioned, Also, when deleting the Iot Hub and creating a new one , the problem still remains. did you try deleting entire resources? If not, please delete the resource group completely and start resource creation again and see if it helps.

@JÖRG STRIEBEL @Schavuit Are you still blocked? Could you share the region on which you have created the resources?

Hi Ashok,

The problem resolved itself later that day. The region was EU-West. I tried later in the afternoon and I was able to create and provision iot devices normally again.
