Outlook causing overheating

I'm using a Lenovo XI1 Yoga with Windows 10. Recently, Microsoft Outlook starting requiring high CPU usage, resulting in the cooling fan running non-stop. When Outlook is open, Outlook is using 45-50% of CPU. When I close it, the total CPU use drops to around 2% and the fan turns off. The computer is about 9 months old, but this has only been happening for a few days. Reboot didn't help. The outbox is empty.
