Windows 10 cannot install shared printer on Windows 7

Good day.

I have 2 computers:

  • one is Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • another is Windows 7 (32-bit)

These computers are in the same network.

I have Epson LQ-2190 printer attached to the Windows 7 PC. It was set to be shareable.

Since we are on the same network, from the Windows 10, I could browse the Windows 7

directories and also I could see the Printer being hosted on Windows 7.

The problem is, I could not join to use the shared printer.

Compared to when I still have both PC as Windows 7 (32-bit), joining the shared printer was easy and hassle-free.

I also installed the Epson LQ-2190 64-bit driver on the Windows 10.

I thought in this way, the Windows could detect the driver in local environment, but

still, it claimed "Windows can't find a driver for EPSON LQ 2090 on the network. To

locate one manually...". I do exactly as what the message implies. I browsed to

find the .INF file, but then it shows "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver..."

What you really need to do is to get a new Epson Printer that is Wi-Fi.

My XP-620 and my XP-960 are available to all 12 of my computers.  They are also Scanners.

    They are color printers also.

The XP-620 is limited to 8 1/2 x 14 inches but the XP-960 has ability to do 17 inches wide.

    .

Check prices at Staples and Amazon.
