Printer Shortcut

I have just purchased a new laptop, which has Windows 10 installed.

I have installed MS Office 2016 and my HP printer/scanner/fax etc

Now I want to add a shortcut on the desktop to the printer but ..............

There is no folder called HP on my C drive so I cannot go to it and add a shortcut.

Trying to add a shortcut from right click desktop - New shortcut requires browsing to a location that I cannot see

Hovering over the printer when I have a document open in print mode, says it is in a file called "WSD-a8 .........long string of numbers"

Doing a specific search for "HP" shows me some files in C/programdata   which I cannot see

I tried connecting the printer direct to the laptop and it ran through the driver install but with no shortcut added

Help required please

Type Control in Windows Start Search Box (Cortana) > Control Panel > Devices & Printers > Drag the required printer to Desktop to create the shortcut (Or you can right click to create shortcut)

Thank you very much E for Excel.

I still had to download a program from the store but I can now "Scan" from my laptop
