Here is the message I received on all the latest updates for my new computer:

A security issue has been identified in a Microsoft software product that could affect your system. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. For a complete listing of the issues that are included in this update, see the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system.

This is the list of updates:

2018-05 Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057) (2x)

2018-05 Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4134660) (2x)

Stuck at 99% download for this one:

 2018-05 Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4132649)

The trouble shooter wanted to uninstall and update and reinstall.  Will try that tomorrow, but would like to know more about the above error.

Thank you.

Hi Connie, 1703 is no longer the latest version of Windows 10, 1803 has been released, you should go straight to that version to bring your system up to date and make all previous updates obsolete . . .

With these major upgrades, the most successful method is to upgrade from the Windows 10 ISO - you download the ISO and then perform an Offline Upgrade

Click this link:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), then choose ISO

When the ISO file completes downloading

Disconnect from the Internet

Uninstall any 3rd party Anti-virus - this is a known issue with 1803

Then, double click it and then run Setup.exe to begin the upgrade . . .

Windows updates include drivers, bugs and security patches.

The message is not really an error but a warning stating that if you do not keep your system up to date it be unsafe dues to a known security breach in one of the Microsoft's software.

You are at least 2 version behind that is why you are getting these warnings.

This one is no longer available, so i would hide it. Link below explains how to hide it.

Below is a link to directly download the other one.

Sometimes it is easier to download them directly and install them.

Link below for the other one which again download and install manually.

1803 is the latest one. 1703 is way too behind. You should upgrade to 1803 manually by following below steps.

    1. Right click on Windows Start > Windows Powershell (Admin)

Type following (or copy and paste following) one by one and Enter

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    1. Type following in Windows Start Search box and hit Enter %systemroot%\Logs\CBS > Rename CBS.Log to something else.

If it doesn't allow you to rename - Type services in Windows Start Search box > Click Services > Scroll down to find the Windows Modules Installer service and double-click on it > Set its startup type to Manual > Reboot your computer

Go to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS > Rename CBS.Log > Reboot your computer > Then go back into the Services App and set Windows Modules Installer Service back to Automatic Startup (Note CBS log files contain information about windows update, SFC etc)

    (Source - https://partnersupport.microsoft.com/en-us/par_...)

    1. Uninstall any third party Antivirus (After update is successful, you can install it again)
    2. You can go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

4.1 Click Update now to update to 1803 through Upgrade Assistant.

    OR

4.2 You can download the latest Windows 10 package from this link (media creation tool) and follow the instructions there to upgrade. Use the very simple instructions given under Using this tool to upgrade this PC to Windows 10
