Windows limits my CPU frequency

Hello,

After an update my processor cannot run higher than 1,5Ghz. I've tried resetting CPU and cache voltages and multipliers, that worked for 10 seconds and then the CPU returned to 62% load at 1.49Ghz again. The base frequency displayed at the task manager is 2.4. How can I disable this limitations in order to reach normal CPU speed?

    Hi Matthew234,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. I'm here to help. Let's try troubleshooting your Windows 10 performance issue. But first, I'll need additional information in order to further isolate your concern. What is your Windows 10 build and version? What is the make and the model of your device? Is this happening to other users on your PC?

In the meantime, please try the following suggestions:

    1. Perform a Clean boot to check if the issue persist.
    2. Run this tool. This will optimize Windows speed  and performance.
    3. Check this article. This will help improve PC performance in Windows 10.
    4. Use the default or optimal BIOS settings.
    5. Update your BIOS firmware to the latest version. Go to the manufacturer's support site for further assistance.

    Keep us posted.

The issue was Windows Event Log. It seems strange but when I ran a normal boot with all enabled the problem didn't appear. Now everything works fine.  Thank you!
