I got two folders mapped successfully (after excellent help from Andre).  I can access the two folders on one computer from the other which was the goal  I got excited it worked after two days of trying.  BUT it says the folders are empty when they aren't!  I need some more magic please if someone can help.  Andre you still there?

On the PC you’re trying to share the folders from, right click on one of thre folders, and go to properties.

Once there, click on the sharing tab, then advanced sharing.

Is “Share this folder” checked off? Then click on permissions, are Full Control, Change and Read all checked off? If not, do so. Click OK a couple times, and check to see if you can see the files now.

    Let me know!

Thanks much, Charlie.  I checked on both computers and the box for hidden files was checked on both of them.  I checked the properties of the computer with the two folders I am trying to share... it says the folders are shared, but when I tried to manually share with my computer, it wasn't finding it for some reason.... even though it appears I have already mapped the folders.. weird. thanks for helping me... what shall I try next?

    Hi Cand,

Let’s try the easiest thing first:

Click start, type "control panel" - open it

Look for file explorer options - open it and click the "view" tab

Make sure "show hidden files...." is checked off.

See if the folders still appear to be empty. We know they aren’t, so it must be a setting/permission somewhere.

    Let me know!

This will help you. Forget Mapping drives or remote desktops.

Note: On sharing options, set both permissions the same as you will see in the final comment on the thread. This is only for v1803 if you have issues connecting to other PC's.
