Windows Update Problems. Error Code 80070005

I have been unable to check for updates or update history and I suspect that I am not receiving automatic updates. In attempting to the error code 80070005 is displayed.

    Run the Windows Update resolution tool:

    The error code indicates Access denied error, which can be due to a variety of reasons.

    Since you are running Windows 8.1, download and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:

    You can also download and manually install the latest rollup for Windows 8.1 from the Microsoft Update Catalog:

    June 12, 2018—KB4284815 (Monthly Rollup)

    64 bit:
