Desktop Location

So I right clicked my desktop tab in my pc folder and went to the location. I changed the location from my C drive to my D drive because my D drive has much more space. But now when I go back into "This PC" tab my desktop folder is missing and replaced with a folder names "D:/". I tried to change this by going back into the properties; however, nothing changed. I would appreciate some assistance on this problem.

Hi macrwest97, you forgot to sepcify a folder on your D Drive for your Desktop . ..

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor

    Navigate to this Key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

In the right hand pane, double click Desktop

    Set its value to:

    %USERPROFILE%\Desktop

Click OK and close the Registry Editor

    Restart your PC

Your Desktop folder will now be back in its original location

You may have to manually move your desktop files form the D Drive, back into your Desktop folder

After you do that, you can move your Desktop folder again, this time specify D:\Desktop as the folder location . ..
